If a new church is seeking to reach the previously unchurched, lost, unsaved people in its community, the phrase “gospel-centered/driven” will actually mean nothing…because that’s a church phrase. However, if a church is intent on reaching the already churched, those who attend other churches, disgruntled former attenders and church members, etc. the term may work. Yet, if the goal is to be a church that presents the good news to those who have never heard it, drop the churchy taglines and just be that type of church. Be gospel-centered/driven. It will become clear as you reach and disciple those who need this good news.

He is also deeply involved in a wide range of ministries, including Celebrate Recovery, Re-Engage, MERGE, GriefShare, DivorceCare, and other counseling and care services. He was raised on the Northside of Jacksonville and has been married to his wife, Jacquelyn Renee, for over 40 years. A proud United States Army veteran, Eddie is a graduate of the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and served as part of the Army Special Forces. His dedication to service, both within the church and beyond, reflects his lifelong commitment to helping others.

The Maynards moved to Jacksonville in 1993 to begin pastoring Fruit Cove Baptist Church in St John’s. Tim has served in a variety of denominational roles with local, state and National leadership. He brings 40 years of local church experience as well as a heart to help pastors succeed to his role as ENRICH champion.
- [David Tarkington](https://firstcoastchurches.com/leadership/david-tarkington/): David serves as the Expand Team Champion for First Coast Churches. He is the pastor of First Baptist Church of Orange Park where he has served in that role since 2005. Prior to being called as lead pastor, David served as an associate pastor on the church’s staff since 1994. As the Expand Team Champion, David works with church planters in our network and with sending churches to connect them for greater kingdom work in our region and beyond. As a Send Network Church Planting Cohort Coach, he leads planters in our state through training following their  assessment, to help ensure they are equipped for long-term ministry where God is planting them. David lives in Fleming Island with his wife Tracy. They have two adult children and one granddaughter (and a grandson on the way.)

This facility has been in Jacksonville for years (you may have gone ice skating here) and has recently been purchased by the Icemen and has been undergoing renovations to provide recreation ice skating, hockey, and meeting space for community organizations. The lunch will be served at noon, but we will get a tour of the facility at 11:30am. Also as we have been able to offer the past few years with our GameDay Church ministry, each pastor will receive a clergy pass good for one ticket to any and all home games. You must be in attendance to receive this. This lunch is not just for planters, but for pastors of legacy churches as well (they too will receive the pass if attending.) Spread the word and sign up.
