David Tarkington
Church Planting Champion
David serves as the Expand Team Champion for First Coast Churches. He is the pastor of First Baptist Church of Orange Park where he has served in that role since 2005. Prior to being called as lead pastor, David served as an associate pastor on the church’s staff since 1994. As the Expand Team Champion, David works with church planters in our network and with sending churches to connect them for greater kingdom work in our region and beyond. As a Send Network Church Planting Cohort Coach, he leads planters in our state through training following their assessment, to help ensure they are equipped for long-term ministry where God is planting them. David lives in Fleming Island with his wife Tracy. They have two adult children and one granddaughter (and a grandson on the way.)
